Job Update

I just wanted to take a minute and update whoever is interested in my job hunting.
Since I have moved and settled in I have been looking for a job. I received a couple of calls last week on a couple of jobs that I had applied to earlier in the week.
I had an initial phone interview with job #1. When I was done with the phone interview they wanted to set up an in-person interview which was done on Friday. It was a long interview to say the least. Probably the longest interview I have ever had. Once I got used to the questions it went a little faster. I was super nervous because I haven't been interviewed in over 3 years. I also wasn't used to the way the wanted the questions answered. I am actually not really sure how I did. They said that they will either call or e-mail in the next couple of days.
Job #2 called last week as well. I had an initial phone interview with this one as well. After that first interview was done we set up another phone interview which was going to be done with someone different for the next day at 11. So I tried to prepare myself the night before by just going through typical interview questions and how I would answer them. The next day the time came and they didn't call. I thought that was weird but nothing I could really do about it. They finally called around 11:15 and apoligized for running late and would make the interview a little short to make up for the time. I actually thought that this one went really well. She said that she was going to meet with a group of managers on Friday and try to 'sell' the people she interviewed and that I would receive either a call to let me know that they wanted to interview me in person or I would receive an email that would say 'Thanks but No Thanks' kind of thing. Friday came and I hadn't heard anything one way or the other. I checked my e-mail on Saturday just in case and there was an e-mail saying 'Thanks but No Thanks'.
I was extremely disapointed because I knew that I would be great at job #2 but all I can really do is bounce back and start looking for jobs that I can be satisfied with. I think that for right now I just need to find a job that is going to pay the bills and then once I have money coming in I can look for something that will make me happy.
I am really trying to stay positive about it all. I try to keep an open mind each morning when I am looking for a job. I know that I want to find something that I am good at and that makes me happy. Right now I am just trying to find a job that will do one of those things as well as pay the bills that are coming in.
I know that I will find something. I am just not good at patience when it comes to looking for a job :) I guess that is why I am going through all of this...to learn patience!
I do get on the computer each morning to look for jobs so I am hoping that something turns up soon. Keep you fingers crossed for me!

Can you believe it?

Can you believe what you are seeing? Yeah if you know me that well then I know you are having a hard time believing what you are seeing!!! We spent the weekend at Marshall's dads house in New York. The cat that is cuddling with me is named Alice. She is fiesty one minute and lovable the next. I won't lie I am terrified of her. It is fine when she is sitting there sleeping but when she is not I am just waiting for her to attack! She has claws in all 4 of her paws. I don't want her taking a swipe at me for any reason. Marshall swears up and down that she won't do that but I am not so sure especially after seeing her take a swipe at him just for petting her. Cats are such fickle creatures.

Now there is who I really miss! The black one of course :) He is mine and since moving I have missed Jack terribly. Gizmo (the white one) isn't bad half of the time. He was really starting to grow on me the last couple of months. It is crazy how attached we get to our pets. They are someone who is constantly there for you no matter what. Jack is such a great dog. I will give credit where it is due and say that my dad did a great job in training him.
I hope that my dog knows how much I miss him. I hope that he tries to get into my 'old' bedroom to sneak up on the bed and sleep with me :) It would drive my parents nuts if he did that!

We made it!!!

Well me and Marshall were off on Saturday afternoon around one. We drove and drove and drove :) Just kidding it wasn't that bad at all. I drove the first leg of the trip. We had agreed that I would drive during the day and he would do the night driving. I have horrible night vision so we thought that it was a good arrangment. It was great to be in the car and talk and just hang out. The weather wasn't bad at all. I talked with my family and apparently we left just in time because when I called them the first time we were filling up gas they said that they were getting a snow storm and that the ground was already covered. I am glad we left when we did.
The roads were great until we hit Aspen and Vail. It was a good thing that we were going through there at night because the traffic would have been horrible during the day. The only bad thing was that the roads were not really painted that well and it was hard to see the lines. I was tense and I wasn't even the one driving. But he got us through it safely :)
We drove until about 4 in the morning and then decided to get a couple hours sleep in a hotel and take a break. We drive to a couple of different places that wouldn't give us a room for the day. They said that we would have to be out by noon. That wouldn't have given us enough sleep. We were really looking for a place that would give us a check out at 2:30 or what not. We drove to the next town and found a Holiday Inn that would give us a late check out. We both just crashed the minute we hit the pillow. It was nice. We woke up in the morning earlier then we wanted to so instead of sitting around we went and got some lunch and then hit the road. On that first day we made it all the way to Kansas.
It started to drizzle as we were finishing up our lunch in Kansas so we hurry up and left so that we could try and beat the weather. We dealt with a little rain but nothing too bad. We eventually got ahead of it and it was smooth sailing again.
We didn't stop that night. We thought about it but we just wanted to get home and settled in as soon as we coculd. When Marshall got tired I took over the driving so that he could get a little sleep in the car. We hit some bumpy roads so it was a little hard for him to sleep but he got a little bit.
When we were in making our last fill up I switched him places again so that he could drive the last leg. I didn't want to do the last of it because I had no idea where I was going in town and he knew more of his way around. I fell asleep a couple of times before making to the apartment. I guess not sleeping the night before was catching up with me.
We finally got to the apartment. It was great getting out of the car knowing that we were actually here! We were both starting to get really tired of being in the car. When we got here Marshall unpacked the car and brought it all in. Which I have to tell you is as full as it could get. Seriously I wish that we took a picture of how full it was because it was pretty bad. We totally forgot to take the picture until Marshall had already unpacked the car. He said that he wasn't packing it back up :) I would never even think about asking him to do that.
After we unpacked the car we got back into it so that we could drive him to pick up his truck at work. It was a little hectic because traffic out here is INSANE!!! I hope that I don't get in a wreck anytime soon. Once we got that taken care of we went to the store and grabbed stuff for hot dogs and hamburgers...they were really yummy.
I didn't really unpack a lot that first night. We were both so tired. We got into our comfortable bed and both passed out :)
We spent all of the next day unpacking and getting things that we needed to both get all settled in. We went grocery shopping. It was fun looking around the big store that has a ton. I might go and get some lunch there while Marshall is out of town just to see how it is.
Marshall has been great with everything and helping me get settled. Last night we finally got all settled in for the most part. It feels great to be settled. Unpacking the clothes was a little tough because apparently I have too many clothes according to Marshall :) Oh well we worked it all out. Once we have a dresser things will fit better in there place.
Marshall left this morning for his first trip since I have been here. I know that he is worried about me but I will be just fine. He thinks that I won't wander out of the apartment :) I now know where Target and Weigmens is so I think that I am set to go if I need to go out and get something.
Today I applied for a couple of jobs and we will see what happens. I will cross my fingers that something will work out because I can already tell you that I am bored of sitting at home with nothing to watch on t.v. I know that there is always temporary work that I can do. I have thought about applying at the Applebee's that is by Target but we are going to wait to see if I hear from some other places first.
Just thought that I would catch everyone up and let them know that we are getting settled in. Thank you everyone for all the help you gave us!

Going Away Party/Shower

Yesterday my family and friends got together for a little shower/going away party. It was so much fun! We went to FatCats/Pizza Factory for dinner. I was so happy to have everyone together for one last time. It was nice to mix all of my friends and family together. Everyone had a great time hanging out and talking. It was just nice to sit back a relax and enjoy good company. The ladies sitting by me in the picture above are co-workers from the Credit Union...I am so glad that they came. It will be sad to leave because we spend so much time together at work. They are happy for me though and can't wait for me to start my new adventures :)

I had my little sister takes pictures of everyone so that I could remember everything. She did a great job. I am missing a picture of Dallin who I meet years ago when I was in a play. We have been friends ever since. I will miss him ton! A couple of people from the theater came which was great. I worked there for 3 years and it again will be hard to leave the people behind. It was a great job and I got to know so many people. I am really glad that a couple of them made it out last night. It meant a lot to have them there.
I was glad that Nici and Ryan made it because they were up in Provo for work until 6. We actually were just looking at our menu's when they walked in so they didn't miss anything at all :) Although I do feel bad because Nici was sick. Thanks though both of you for coming out! Brit felt left out because she was the one taking all of the pictures so she had to snap one of herself. She is so funny! I didn't even look at the pictures until this morning because I was so tired when I got home last night. I noticed that there were a couple of 'Boo' on there (Brit is her mom and so it explains why there was a couple of her taken last night). I don't mind at all because they are all really cute. Although in this picture her cute little nose looks a little orange and I am not sure why. But she is still so stinkin cute!

After dinner was done and dishes were cleared I opened gifts that people brought. It was totally unexpected but appreciated so much at the same time. I got a gift card for Target, a gift card for Khols which I am told has great kitchen stuff that is always on sale :) I received a set of towels in a really great color with hands towels and a couple of wash clothes. I got a popcorn popper that I can't wait to use. I was commenting to my parents the other day about how much I am going to miss having my dads popcorn on Sunday...I guess that they felt bad enough to get me one of my own so that I can still have popcorn when I move :) I got a red crockpot that I am sad I have to take back because we just got one for Christmas from Marshall's brother. It was funny that I got it from my sisters because they thought that I should keep it anyways because it is red. The thought though is what counts and I appreciate it. I also received a square skillet that we can now cook French Toast on. We haven't had one so when I make Marshall cook me French Toast we cook it in a pan one at a time. Now we can cook at least 4 slices so we can eat at the same time :) I can't wait to use it! We also got a mixer which is nice because we don't have one. Now I can make twice cooked potatoes or make stuffed hotdogs without using instant potatoes. I can't wait to start cooking again for the two of us with all of our new stuff that we received.

Thank you everyone for everything. I couldn't wait to talk to Marshall last night and tell him all of the fun stuff that we got. He was really shocked at all of the great things we got. He also wanted me to thank everyone for getting us these great gifts.

Packing

Well for the last 2 weeks I have been packing up boxes of clothes and what not that aren't to heavy so that I could ship them out to the new apartment so that my car isn't so full. I mailed my last box yesterday. It has to be the last one because Marshall won't be at the apartment at all next week to get anymore because of work and then he flies into Utah on Saturday to pick me up. I have tried to pack things that I could live without for the next couple of weeks. I have realized that I have a ton of stuff. With shipping I think 6 boxes I am still going to have a pretty full car. I don't think that originally I was planning on taking everything like books and what not but now that my parents are moving they don't have room to store any of my stuff. It is okay because I need to take it but it has just been a process on going through and sending everything that I thought would make it in one piece through the mail.
At my house we have 3 full book shelves of books between my parents and myself. We all read a ton. I had to go through all of them and pick out the books that I want to take with me because those all won't be going to my parents new house. It was hard to do because I don't want to throw any of them away because I re-read them so much. I am bringing a ton with me but also leaving a ton that will get taken into goodwill or what not. Oh well I will just have to use the library if I want something to read. I told Marshall that we are going to have to get a bookcase because of all the books that I am bringing and he said that he already was planning on getting one so that we both have somewhere to put our books. I am glad that they don't have to sit in a box in a closet.
I think that tomorrow night I am going to pack up all of the bathroom stuff that I don't use but didn't pack in case it happened to leak in the box or something. It sucks that I couldn't send it because it is stuff that I am not using right now but knowing my luck it would have leaked all of everything and ruined it.
I sit down and think about all of the stuff that I have to do or get ready in order to move and it seems like I haven't even started. I feel like there is so much more I need to do when really I am trying to do it a little bit at a time so that next week I am not freaking out trying to get everything ready.
Wow it really is coming next week. I can't believe it. It seems like it has been forever but it also feels like it is coming on so fast.
People have been asking me how I am feeling and all of that. I tell them that I am so excited to be with Marshall again but that I am also sad to leave my family and friends here. I will miss everyone here like crazy...BUT...I know that I am making the right decision in moving :)

The countdown begins...

I think that it is finally time to start counting down until the time I make the move to PA. Yesterday was my last day at the theater. It didn't really hit me until some people started asking for hugs. I gave out the hugs to and still it hasn't hit me that I won't be working there anymore after 3 1/2 years. I think that it might be because I am going to see Big River the night before me and Marshall are supposed to start the long drive to my new home.
I gave my full time job my notice yesterday. I went into my managers office and told him that I was moving so the 29th of February will be my last day. He asked if I was moving in with my 'friend' and I told him yes :) It was funny that he put it that way. Oh well he said that he was sad to see me go and told me what a great job I have done. He then came out a while later and said that he had thought about it and decided that I couldn't leave and that Marshall should move back to Utah...I told him that was never going to happen :) I told him that Marshall would just come and kidnap me if they didn't let me go! It was good to let them know when my last day there would be. I think that I was worried about his reaction that I was so tightly wound up. So needless to say when I got that over with I felt much 'lighter'.
I only have one more part time job to tell and I will do that in a week and a half or what not. I am not to worried about that one I just don't want to give them to much notice because then I feel like they might get mad and put me somewhere crappy for the Jazz games. So they won't be getting that big of notice.
I started packing up some boxes last week to ship out there so that my car isn't so full when we drive. I just packed up clothes that I won't be wearing in the next 3 weeks which is basically all my dresses and summer clothes. I shipped those out a couple of days ago. I will pack a little bit more of things that I don't see myself missing or can live without over the next couple of weeks. It will be nice to ship as much of it as I can so that the car isn't packed so full that you can see out the windows. Marshall thinks that I have a problem with shoes so I think that I am going to throw those in a box as well and ship them out because I don't wear a lot of them because of the weather. I know that he is excited about receiving all of these boxes :) He is the lucky one though because he can just put them in a corner and forget about them. I am the one that gets to unpack and find a place for all of it. Right now we don't have a dresser to put anything in so that is going to be a challenge but we just have to make it work with what we have for right now.
So anyways after all of my rambling it will be 3 weeks from TODAY that Marshall and I will be together again! It seems so crazy but it feels great to know that there is an end in sight for us. I can't wait to be with him again. I am scared to leave everything that I have known behind but I can't wait to start my new life with the person that I love and make my new home with him. It is going to be a great adventure!

As some of you know today is Marshall's birthday. I had to collect some pictures of when he was younger. Isn't he just sooo cute? I hope that he doesn't kill me for putting them up but I just couldn't resist. And please Marshall don't get mad at the person who sent them to me. We only love and care about you!
