Halloween

I was driving to work and I was thinking about how I don't have any Halloween decorations. I am such a loser. I want to go out and buy decorations right now but there in lies my problem...I have no idea what to buy. I don't think that I am very creative when it comes to things like that. I know though that I need to start collecting things so that I have stuff to put up every year. I really want to call up my sister and have her send me things that she will think will look good in my apartment but she hasn't really seen my apartment. Sheesh I don't know what I am going to do. I haven't had this problem before. I have a sign that I won playing a game but it is back in Utah so that doesn't help me out much. Plus it is kind of heavy so I don't think that I could talk my mom into sending it.
I want to get up to Marshall's dads house so that we can at least have some pumpkins but we aren't sure when we are going to make it up there again and I don't think that he would go out and buy any.
So if any of you know of any ideas that would look good in the apartment let me know. I also need to start on Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations as well.
HELP!!!

Grocery shopping

So when Marshall came back home last week we had no food. I mean the cupboards were bare :) I felt bad for him that we had nothing for breakfast so I took him out to eat. We then when grocery shopping and spent almost a $100. Now you can imagine how bare our fridge and cupboards were :) I was just sick and then I got busy with work and training. Hopefully it won't happen again. But no worries now we have enough food for a while...

See now our little fridge is full. I am afraid that all of our liquids on our top shelf are too heavy. So far the shelf is holding up and we haven't had any spills yet :)

Speaking of grocery shopping I have to go again before Monday because that is when Marshall comes back home and I want to make sure that we havve things to eat. It isn't as big of deal when he isn't here because I am gone so much that I don't eat all of my meals here. Oh well I will make sure that I go so that he doesn't have to go with me when he is home because I know how much he likes to go grocery shopping :)

Drapes for the bedroom

With the sun coming up facing our only window in the bedroom I knew that we had to get something put up there fast because it gets bright so early and it is hard to sleep. I don't have as much trouble as Marshall because when I am in the mood I sleep with an eye mask on so it blocks out all the light which is nice because then I get to sleep a little bit later :)

Marshall was away and so I wanted to suprise him. I went to target to look around at what they had. I was actually nervous picking something out without Marshall's input because I wanted him to like whatever I picked out. I did something I thought was really nutral and goes somewhat with the comforter that we keep on our bed in the winter. It is a darker shimmer green color with cream behind that to block out more light.

With it being so hot here the only blanket we have on the bed as you can see is a purple blanket that I made years ago. The blanket that we have on in the winter is brown so it goes better with the blinds that I picked out. I hung them and everything by myself :) I am so proud. I didn't tell Marshall until he figured it out for himself when he got home...he was also very proud that I did it all by myself and it wasn't even that hard.

It does the job of blocking out the light so that is good and it lets us sleep in a little bit longer on the weekends :) Just another project down in the apartment. There are many more to keep me busy with thinking of new ideas. I am still working on something in the kitchen to give us a little bit more storage but that is still a little ways away. I will let you all know though when that gets done. Let's be honest though and say that it probably won't be this year. Oh well :)

Clean - Up

This morning I woke up to the apartment guys cleaning up all the leaves that have been hanging around lately. I didn't mind them waking me up because it was around 8:30 and that is when I usually get up.
Each morning there would always be a ton of leaves in front of the door. Now that they are all cleaned up maybe the outside of our apartment will look nicer :)
I am also hoping that spring is right around the corner. Yesterday it was in the early 50's all day with the sun shining. It was nice to open all the blindes and bring in the sunlight! I am ready to put plants in our planter again that sits outside on the porch. I loved taking care of it last year.
I also saw little plantes that you keep in your house to take care of at the store the other day. I really had to practice self control to not buy any right now :) Oh well I am sure that it will happend sooner or later. I just need a place to put them first!
I honestly can't just wait for the good weather to come rolling around so it is sunny all of the time! That means cooking out more which is always a good thing because it is soooo yummy!

New Entertainment Center

Well yesterday Marshall went and picked up our new entertainment center that we picked out from crate and barrel. At the old apartment here in Utah we never had one because the apartment that we were in already had a built in shelf or what not that held all of our stuff. So needless to say the t.v has been sitting on an end table since then because we weren't sure what we wanted. I am glad that we got the one we did because from the looks of it it is perfect! Here are som pictures of Marshall's progress in putting it together...

As you can see in the pictures above the t.v. is totally in need of a new home :) It took him a while but I am just glad that he had patience and stuck with it until the end. The next pictures are of the t.v.'s new home...with all of the furniture switched around in its place

It looks really good and I can't wait to get there and enjoy it! Marshall did a great job of setting everything up and making it look nice. He even went and picked out another lamp last night to go on the other end table so now that room is finished...almost. I just now need to hang the pictures that I want in there. He will have to make room for all the DVD's that are moving with me :) Hopefully he is prepared for that!!!

New Apartment

The day after Christmas I flew to New York (Marshall's family is from there). It was great seeing each other again after 3 months of being apart! On Thursday we woke up early and drove to PA to see the new apartment and take care of a couple of things there. The drive wasn't bad at all. It took us a little over 4 hours to get there from his dads house. When we arrived we stopped at the leasing office so that I could sign the lease in person. The person who was there asked me if I had colored my hair...I guess you can tell from the black and white picture they have of my driver's license that it used to be blonde. Once we took care of that we drove to the apartment. The space in front of our door was covered in leaves as was the patio.

He did a really great job picking the place out without me there. I knew that he was worried about me liking it. I love it!!! I can't wait until we are there together so that we can really make it 'our' place. It is a mess right now because he is still in the process of really moving in :) We only have to switch a couple of the things around in the kitchen because I can't reach all the shelves because I am so short! He hasn't hung any of the pictures yet which is a good thing because I want to be there to decide where I think that they would look best. After going through and looking at everything I was really excited. I want to move tomorrow! It will be weird to have my own space again expecially with him gone days at a time. I really can't wait though until we can make it ours.

There are some random pictures of the apartment so far. Once I get my hands on the place I will take more pictures so that you can all see what it looks like when it is all put together. But overall I love the new place and I can't wait to move in and of course I am excited to be with Marshall again!
